Bio
of Patricia Feeney
Pat
is a Ford Scholar with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University.
She began her technical writing career in 1985 when Martin Marietta
hired her to work on their multi-million dollar contract with the
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Washington D.C. to update
the National Airspace System (NAS) Plan. Working with financial
analysts and engineers, Pat prepared documents for submission to
Capitol Hill soliciting funding of various NAS Plan projects.
When
Martin Marietta (then Lockheed-Martin) lost the NAS Plan Contract
in 1995, the successor contractor, TRW, invited Pat to join them
and carry on the contractually required technical writing she had
been doing for the FAA. She performed in this capacity for the entire
duration of the TRW NAS Plan Contract and was once again invited
by the successor contractor, BAE, to assist with their transition
of FAA documentation requirements to the new contract.
Other
professional experience has included being selected to work on several
proposal task forces, the most recent of which was preparation of
the key resume package submitted with the successful Parsons Infrastructure
& Technology Group Inc. Technology TSSC-III proposal. The award
of the contract to Parsons was announced December 2001.
In
1989, Pat was selected to perform as a documentation consultant
and senior technical editor on a special two-month assignment for
Martin Marietta Canada, Ltd. (Ottawa) on their contract with Transport
Canada Aviation Group. She was also selected to conduct Corporate
Training Workshops in technical writing from 1988 through 1990 under
the auspices of the Martin Marietta Corporate Training Program in
Bethesda, MD.
Pat
has consistently won awards from her parent organizations for outstanding
sustained performance and continual process improvement. Other honors
include an Award of Merit and an Award of Achievement from the Society
of Technical Communicators in 1986 and 1987 for the technical editing
and integration of professional documents.
